Fuel economy and government grant:
Quebec’s leading manufacturer of mechanical tarp systems, ElCargo, is proud to announce the launch of its Eco Environmental Program. This new programme is design to help carriers and owner & operators save more money, in two different ways.
First, the installation of an ElCargo mechanical tarp system can save you up to almost 9% and 15% in fuel. Second, ElCargo systems have been certified by the Ministère des Transports du Québec for its Program for Improving Energy Efficiency in Freight Transportation, program that offers financial assistance of up to 1500.00$ of the purchase and installation costs of equipment allowing improvement of energy efficiency, such as aerodynamic enhance devices.
ElCargo mechanized tarp systems are the only systems to have their eco-environmental performance scientifically documented as part of the most recent Energotests. The fuel economy performance tests, conducted by the independent firm FPInnovations last September on the Transport Canada track at Blainville, have demonstrated that ELCARGO systems can help achieve fuel savings of 14.93% for open top trailers and 8.80% for the Multi-Flip.
With these impressive results, ElCargo has been certified as a supplier by the Ministère des Transports du Québec, to give access to the financial assistance through the MTQ’s Program for Improving Energy Efficiency in Freight Transportation. It is important to mention that ElCargo is, for now, the only supplier of mechanical tarp systems to receive this certification, which is essential to give access to the grant. The MTQ will in fact release shortly a press release to inform carriers and owner & operators that grant applications for systems manufactured by other companies will be rejected.
Although the main objective of a tarp system from ElCargo is to protect bulk merchandise inside a dump trailer, to prevent losses, and to facilitate its opening and closing operations while making this operation safer, the manufacturer has made significant investments in R&D to reduce aerodynamic drag when the dumper is empty. Thanks to these investments, ElCargo can proudly offer the exclusive Eco Environmental Program, which allows carriers to save double while reducing their environmental footprint.
