ElCargo: The Efficiency You Have Dreamed Of!
It's in 1998 that Mr. Réal Royer, present owner of ElCargo, launches his company in Ville-Marie, Quebec. Later, he moves his plant and headquarters to Saint-Hyacinthe. The growth of the company and the success of ElCargo mechanical tarp systems are such that both the plant and headquarters have to be enlarged in 2008. The facility now spreads over 140,000 square feet!
ElCargo designed and manufactured its first manually operated tarp system in response to an urgent need from the wood shavings transport industry. This first system has a gear box that can be hand-operated from the base of the trailer. This new concept has several advantages, such as reducing accident risks for operators, facilitating drivers'work and generating sizable fuel savings.
Aware of its markets' growing needs, ElCargo rapidly developed new products and introduced the electrical operation system with remote control option, and the multi-gear system. Manual or electrical, ElCargo's systems can be fitted on any type of open roof trailers.
ElCargo designs products to transport all types of bulk materials: chemical products, agricultural products, waste, hazmat, all this while abiding by the laws and regulations governing this type of transport.
2010 has proven a pivot year for ElCargo. First, we created the Eco Environmental Program. This program is an outcome of the fuel economy tests performed by the independent firm FPInnovations, at the Transport Canada facility in Blainville, in September 2009. The tests were conducted on open roof trailers, covered with a mechanical tarp system, and uncovered. Results showed a 14.93% fuel economy with the covered trailer, in comparison to the uncovered one. We suggest that you read the details of the Eco Environmental Program carefully on our Web site. The beginning of the year was quite busy as ElCargo also launched a new electrical operation system with emergency manual mode, the 541-EM. The best of two worlds!
For Mr. Réal Royer and his team, the year 2010 is far from over! Last April saw the official launch of the awaited Multi Flip 651-MF system, a brand new mechanical tarp system for tipping trailers. The system works from the front to the rear of the trailer, providing for a fully uncovered trailer and making possible conventional loading from any side and even from the rear. The new results showed an 8.80% fuel economy performed by the independent firm FPInnovations, at the Transport Canada facility in Blainville, in September 2010.
In that same month, ElCargo was announcing that they were now an authorized dealer for the 'Roll-Tite' system. This agreement will enable ElCargo to address the general transport market with this retractable tarp system. And the year is far from over for ElCargo!
